Body & Soul Women’s Exercise Group
Women interested in stretching exercises and a light cardio workout should consider being a part of the Body and Soul group which meets every Monday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Celebration Center gym. Sessions start with a short devotional, sharing joys and concerns, and prayer. Group led exercises are followed by walking around the perimeter of the gym. Participants can bring stretch bands and weights of their own, or use bands and weights provided (1, 2 or 3 lb. sizes).
Women in the group range from age 60 to 80+ and everyone exercises at their own comfort level. For more information, contact Linda Holsinger, 570-546-6840.
Mission Stitchers
The Mission Stitchers is a group of men and women who typically meet at 9:00 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month in our Celebration Center. They work on mission projects such as creating lap quilts for area nursing homes, chemo caps for patients of a local cancer center, items to sell at our annual mission craft fair, prayer shawls to be given to those experiencing hardship and baby quilts for newborns. This group welcomes all ages and ability levels and is willing to teach beginners. Equipment and supplies are available. See the online calendar for any scheduling changes.
Faithful Hands
The Faithful Hands interest group reaches out to assist our church family and community. Meeting the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., we begin with a time studying the book of James, instructing us to be not only hearers of the word, but doers (James 1:25b “…doers who act — they will be blessed in their doing.”) The remainder of the meeting is spent planning projects. Contact person: Karen Barraco (kbarraco@windstream.net).
